Home – About Us
YALAcollective invites you to a unique journey in Kerala, the land of Ayurveda to an immersive 10 days experience to dive you into the intelligence of the body and the senses. The beginning of a NEW YEAR is a perfect time to detox and clean our body to welcome all positive new change we will introduce in our daily life.
The program we propose you in collaboration with the healing Ayurvedic village Kairali is a pre-emptive healing program created to stimulate the capacity of self-regulation of our body, according to the wisdom of Ayurveda, Yoga and Meditation, in front of all the stresses that we undergo in our daily life.
Every morning we will start introducing with a detox ritual followed from a meditation and Pranayama (breath techniques) class. After this internal body cleansing we will practice with Francesca Lo Cascio a two hours yoga class. Beyond this daily routine we will enjoy Francesca’s teaching during 3 evening Yin yoga classes, created to deeply relax and stretch your body.
Nathalie Geetha Babouraj, French/Indian doctor and founder of the ISI (Institut de santé integrative) in Paris, will guide us through the knowledge of Ayurveda. Following her guidance we will learn and practice together the principles of this ancient medicine. Nathalie will also guide the group in the art of Indian dance, a joyful moment to learn how to express our self through the movement of the body.
A detailed manual will be offered to you so that you can experience the Detox at home when needed.
You will experience the New Year’s day in Kerala! We will seize the opportunity to celebrate this important moment with a great night celebration.
During the retreat we will have the opportunity to express our creativity through the practice of yoga, meditation, cooking class and dance.

What is Ayurveda
Ayurveda is Sanskrit and is a combination of the words Ayus, meaning life, and Veda, which means science; think of it as ‘the science of life’. Ayurveda is based on the principles of finding harmony and balance between mind, body and soul. The main focus is preventing disease and maintaining vitality and health by following recommendations specific to your type; these recommendations offer insight into the ideal routine of proper diet, lifestyle, behavior and state of mind. Ridding our systems of both physical and spiritual toxins is an important part of the practice.
Ayurvedic Class
Nathalie Geetha is a life-lover… After a career as a family physician, she decides to train in yogatherapy, dance, and Ayurveda, with Deepak Chopra. Following her guidance we will learn and practice together the principles of this ancient medicine. A manual will be offered to you so that you can experience the Detox at home when needed. *This detox program is inspired by Nathalie Geetha’s on-line program “Ma Détox Colorée”
Ayurvedic Diet
Food is perhaps the most important and most neglected ingredient of a healthy lifestyle. The Ayurvedic cuisine is a type of new wave food system where the diet includes all the necessary minerals and nutrients to promote growth and health while also keeping in consideration the palatability of the food offered.
This dietary system takes into account all the possible permutations through which the quality of food can be increased without destroying its taste. This cuisine is not only healthy but it also caters to all the age groups according to their choices.
There is no dearth of variety and there are numerous dishes with varied preparations which help in maintaining the novelty of the food. This cuisine is the best way to promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone.
Kerala Backwaters & Houseboat Trip
Kerala is one of the most charming and captivating states in India and this exceptional natural beauty claims for it being named to be “God’s Own Country”.
Houseboats in Kerala is a unique attraction which has gained the attention of tourists from all over the world. One cannot think of complete tours and travel in India without exploring the scenic backwaters with a stay in a Kerala boathouse.
What is unique about backwaters in Kerala ?
Kerala Backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km of waterways.
In the midst of this landscape there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises. The backwaters have a unique ecosystem – freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea. Many unique species of aquatic life including crabs, frogs and mudskippers, water birds such as terns, kingfishers, darters and cormorants, and animals such as otters and turtles live in and alongside the backwaters. Palm trees, pandanus shrubs, various leafy plants and bushes grow alongside the backwaters, providing a green hue to the surrounding landscape.
