The Ananda Lahari Retreat offers a journey to well-being via healing, self-exploration, and transformation of both mind and body. Our authentic complete immersion program lasts 7 days at the stunning Kairali – The Ayurvedic Healing Village in Kerala. Throughout a week, you will immerse yourself in the complete experience of yogic living: engaging in sunrise meditations and asana practice, participating in discussions on Vedanta and philosophy, practicing yoga nidra, exploring Sanskrit and tantra rituals, along with following an Ayurvedic diet and enjoying daily massages and treatments, you will thoroughly incorporate the yogic lifestyle into your life. 

This personal journey will allow you to delve into historical wisdom and traditions and subsequently weave their usage into your everyday life. What Will I Experience?

The term ‘Ayur’ translates to life, while ‘Veda’ refers to knowledge, thus, Ayurveda signifies ‘knowledge of the science of living’. 

You will undergo a comprehensive program of genuine Ayurvedic treatments designed to achieve harmony among body, mind, and spirit. A group of Ayurvedic physicians will assess your health and determine the optimal rejuvenation plan for the week. It might be Abhyangam massages (where two therapists rhythmically and simultaneously apply herbal oils) or other targeted therapies like dhaara to achieve optimal wellness and restore equilibrium in you. 

Our sessions on Ayurveda and the visit to Kairali’s Ayurvedic Product Factory will give you a basis for understanding the use of Ayurveda in contemporary life.

Yoga & Meditation

The term Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, signifying “to join” or “to unite.” It is the harmony of the body, mind, and spirit, as well as the link between the personal self and awareness. 

Kairali is an ideal destination for those looking to explore the depths of yoga, its historical context, foundational principles, and relevance in contemporary life. The retreat will include workshops for all levels, encompassing yoga philosophy, vedanta, sanskrit, tantra, and meditation. By consciously incorporating these principles into our lives, we can adopt a unified strategy to create a lifestyle that fosters genuine health and longevity. 

The philosophy and wisdom of yoga, which is over 5,000 years old, is extensive. In our workshops, we will assist you in understanding ancient philosophies and incorporating them into your daily life. 

Broaden your understanding of Vedanta, yogic philosophy, kundalini, meditation, Sanskrit, and tantra. 

Every workshop will involve a free discussion and examination of ideas, along with actionable advice for applying them in your daily life, allowing you to incorporate yoga more completely into your routine.

What will you indulge in during the day?

A typical day would involve: 

  • Sunrise meditation.
  • Dina Chayra – Morning Ayurvedic rituals cultivate well-being and prepare for the day.
  • Patanjali Smaran –A guided practice of expressing gratitude to the forefathers of the Yoga tradition in the form of a yagna.
  • A Vinyasa yoga flow designed to move every muscle in the body.
  • Yogic breakfast.
  • Ayurvedic consultation with massage or treatment, i.e., an abhyanga massage designed to detoxify the body. The doctors decide on the oils to be used. They are always medicinal oils extracted from herbs and have immense health benefits.
  • Yogic lunch
  • Self Time
  • A workshop on the authentic texts of Yoga
  • Rejuv Yoga – A signature yoga flow aimed at rejuvenating the nadis.
  • Dusk Prayer
