The field of medicinal sciences have seen a multitude of different branches that stem from the same root. These branches are the progeny of ancient teachings and knowledge of the scholars of a time long bygone. With these branches in play, modern medicine practitioners have been able to correctly diagnose and treat countless maladies of the contemporary times. Among these branches, the offshoot known as Ayurveda stands firm and prominent and is an example of the finest teachings that the ancient scholars wanted to convey.
Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words,” Ayur” which means Life and “Veda” which means Science, which when intertwined, gives birth to Ayurveda, which literally means the Science of life. The name is apt for this science because it solely depends on the working and properties of natural energy. According to its doctrines, everything is derived from nature and everything is a part of a much bigger system. Also, it emphasises on maintaining balance in the body and allows for the fulfilment of natural urges without any hindrances.
Ayurveda is a discipline that is capable of making someone’s body free of unnecessary maladies and restoring it to its former glory. With the multiple means of rejuvenation that it offers, Ayurveda has become the shining beacon of light in the alternative field of medicine and with every passing day, more people are embracing this art of having a balance between body and soul.
